| GREAT HONOUR: Chamber of commerce president George Afedakis (right) presents the honorary life membership certificate to Ian Brooke |
PHOTOGRAPHER Ian Brooke has been elected an honorary life member of Weymouth and Portland Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
He has recently retired from full-time business as a commercial photographer and has been a member of the chamber for 20 years.
Mr Brooke was president of the chamber in 1997 and 2000.
Chamber president George Afedakis presented Mr Brooke with a framed certificate of Honorary Life Membership to Mr Brooke during a 'Meet the President' evening at the Prince Regent Hotel.
He said: "We recognise your loyalty and service to our organisation over many years.
"It was with great pleasure that the chamber's executive committee voted unanimously to make you an Honorary Life Member.
"Our hope is that we will continue to see you at chamber meetings, at which you will always receive a great welcome."
Mr Brooke said later that he was greatly honoured to receive such an accolade from the chamber on his retirement.
He is one of only five Honorary Life Members of the Weymouth and Portland chamber.
