A local society will host a talk from a former brewery director.

The Dorchester Civic Society will welcome Jeremy Pope, the ex-finance director of Eldridge Pope, to give a talk in the county town.

Mr Pope will be giving a talk titled, 'The transformation of Dorchester at the close of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries'.

Eldridge Pope was a traditional brewery based in Dorchester between 1881 to 2003.

It will be held at the later date of Tuesday, April 23, at the Dorford Centre, at the Top o’ Town in Dorchester.

The talk will start at 7.30pm and will be free for members of the Civic Society. Non-members are encouraged to make a donation of £3.
